MacBook Mid 2015 Screen translucent vertical dark bar

Hello,

My MacBook is suddenly showing a vertical black bar on white screens. After I updated to Big Sur my MacBook started to flicker a lot. The flickering stopped after a wile but the bars that appeared aren't going anywhere.

What can I do?

macOS Ventura flickering screen I updated my Macbook Air M1 to Ventura on Monday 24 Oct. Within a few hours my screen started to flicker. I rebuild the machine using a USB drive (Create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support) After a few hours it started again. I notice this happens when I am using IntelliJ Idea Ultimate. Has anyone else encounter this issue? Perhaps when doing something that will use up a lot resources? I don't mind going back to Monterey I just hate the long process of rebuilding/setting up a machine.

It looks like there's a dark translucent vertical bar on your Mac.

You could try some basic Mac isolation steps. Here are some resources that can help:

Restart your Mac
Test in safe mode Start up your Mac in safe mode
Test in a new user. Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac
