Added 50 gb to icloud storage and ran backup (1.3 gb of 50 gb used). The physical phone storage is 14.4 gb of 16 gb used. The icloud backup is not incrementing beyond 1.3 gb.
Any suggestions?
Did the backup complete? You will know under Settings > Name > iCloud > iCloud Backups.

Is the device connected to WiFi?
Yes. Should the iCloud backup percent used match the percent used on the physical phone?
All is well. I successfully updated using ICloud backup.
