My iPad Air 4 on14.2 iOS does not go into sleep mode when the case is closed ! Tried two different cases it’s the same. I purchased the case from Apple authorised store! Any help will be appreciated! I also spent about an hr chatting with Apple Support but it was of no use!

Based on what you mentioned, your iPad Air is not sleeping as expected when you close the Smart Cover. "If your iPad doesn't wake and sleep when you open and close the cover, go to Settings > Display & Brightness and turn on Lock/Unlock." If you are not using the Smart Cover, check with the manufacturer of the cover you use.

Thanks for the details. Due to faulty cover, the iPad did not go into sleep mode. Contacted the store and they have agreed to replace the cover!
