Preview app issue in Big Sur:
Since updating to Big Sur, Preview will no longer allow me to adjust photo resolution when I export photos as JPG. I need this for my job, speed counts. Any thoughts?

CAN'T SAVE RESOLUTION CHANGES IN PREVIEW SINCE Big Sur UPDATE!!!
Yea, this is terrible. Open in Preview, change resolution from 72 pixels per inch to 600 pixels per inch, save to PNG (or JPEG etc), and then... simply reverts back to 72 pixels per inch. No change saved. Obviously just bad coding in Big Sur. You'd think Apple would be on top of this wouldn't you? Very unprofessional. Already over 40 people saying similar to this one question, and nothing done by Apple. So many people use preview as part of their business, but Apple doesn't seem to care! Would probably only take 10 minutes for a techie to sort this error by Apple, so it just shows how much Apple have gone down hill in their customer service!
I gave up on Big Sur over three issues.
Well, now I see why my large resolution photos, which I am trying to send to a printer in very large format, are getting reduced in size. I want high resolution and very large prints. My expert printer/photographer has rejected my prints. I couldn't figure out what was going wrong, but then noticed the 'message file size' which was a couple hundred KBs. No wonder. How do I turn off PREVIEW? What a disaster.
I hope this gets fixed somehow soon
Guess if the bug has been fixed in today's update 11.1 ???
Nope, of course.
Thanks!
I have this problem too, even two months after its public release, and still no fix. One shouldn't think that this issue would be that hard to fix.
Apple please fix this!
Preview App Resolution slider on export dialog has no effect at all!
Just installed Big Sur 11.2, which had zero effect on the Preview problem.
pdf -> png, stil, 72 dpi, even I change to 300 dpi...
that's complete nonsense what you're saying _queensmother01
Just installed the latest software update. Big Flop for Preview users again.
Apple did't fix preview's issue... Even new update 11.2.2 did't help...
And...Update 11.2.3 did absolutely nothing for this problem.
I thought I was doing something wrong... When I use the "Adjust Size..." dialog under "Tools" in the menu bar, it seems like it will resize the image. I entered a new, lower resolution in the appropriate input (went from 144 to 100 resolution to reduce image size) and the "Resulting Size" section does show a reduced file size. I hit "OK" and proceed to "File - > Save" and it appears to save, but the file size does not reflect the changes. There is no change in the file size at all. I have also tried using the Option key to access the "Save As..." option and no matter where I save the file, the file size changes are not reflected in the file on disk. This seems like a tremendous bug and I must say that I'm not too impressed as a first time MacOS user...
