I had an issue with my Epson Workforce 320 where it was removed from System Preference and when I tried to add it the Epson software on my Mac would not install, with a dialogue box saying it could not complete installation.

I solved my problem by going to Epson support and downloading the Mac 10.15.x Printer Driver v10.33. I ran that installer and went back to add printer. This time it added the print and all works fine now.

MacOS Big Sur must have altered/broke the Epson software on my Mac.

Thank you for your response! However, downloading Epson drivers was the first thing I tried on the advice of Apple Support via phone. They would not load. That's when I went to a Geek Squad tech who, as I mentioned, knew about such problems with BigSur. Somehow, he downloaded the servers from Epson and successfully loaded them, then wrote a patch that successfully completed communication between my new iMac and the printer. And subsequent to that, with further discussion with Apple phone support, that technician stated that similar problems happened with OS Catalina. At this moment, not being great at navigating computer issues, I am happy to have the printer working and hope that later updates of BigSur will not blow the printer off again.

I had this problem after I bought a new IMac a couple of months ago. I have an Epson SP-400 printer.

I solved it by paying a Geek Squad tech about $45 to remotely load a patch on my machine. It took him about 15 minutes and in my opinion it was well worth the cost. I am not knowledgable about IT/ computer problems and I was heavily involved in word processing at the time. I could not afford the time.

He said he's helped numerous users over this problem. He urged me to contact Epson for a permanent patch. Epson was not helpful. Nor was Apple.

I conclude that upgrading systems--Apple was not supporting my old Mac OS any longer-- creates incompatibilities which manufacturers may have little incentive to assist with.

I had problem with losing Epson ep-803a printer driver after upgrade/ fresh install BigSur. It is an old version printer but work well in previous OS X operating system. Problem solved for me after searching many epson website. And the one that work is epson Japan https://www.epson.jp

Use google translate or Chrome browser to translate the whole site.

Type in search for your model epson printer and follow the steps and you will get done.

Good luck and have fun.

I have an Epson P800 and I'm trying to access the print history through "Printers and Scanners" in System Preferences, MacBook Pro, Big Sur. I am using 3 other printers beside the Epson. I can get "Show Completed Jobs" to function properly for all of the other printers but the P800 shows no history of completed jobs. Any ideas why?
