Apple Maps not showing the map

maps only shows a grid, and no map/streets etc. It will show routes, switches to 3D, but it's still just a grid showing. I had the problem on Catalina, and it's the same on Big Sur.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.14

google maps making carplay lag I have been using google maps to connect to my KIA carplay. The maps will work fine for about 2 minutes then my map lags. My car is ahead of were Google Maps thinks I am by about a minute. This also happens with Waze. It also makes switching over to other car play apps extremely slow almost not possible. If I use Apple Maps this doesn't happen but I don't like the Apple Maps. I've reset my phone connections. Deleted the saved car from CarPlay. All my location settings have been reset and updated. My service coverage is good in the areas. Also, all apps and Iphone are updated to the latest versions. Google maps worked great until about 2 weeks ago. Any ideas or is Apple just hating on Google Maps

Apple Carplay Maps in Ford Sync 3 When I use Carplay in Sync 3 my audio in navigation directions sometimes will work fine and other times there is no sound in directions I just cant figure out why it works one time but not others.... Can anyone help

PS. I should mention that location services are enabled, and 'maps' is checked in the app choice list...
