Keyboard Repeating Letters Randomly

Last year I got my keyboard replaced without any fee (no diagnostic fee) as there is a known defect for some old version of MacBook gadgets mentioned in this link https://support.apple.com/keyboard-service-program-for-mac-notebooks

Now I've been encountering the same issue again, there is an intermittent issue with my keyboard that repeats the letter when i'm typing. It's really annoying. So i decided to contact the Apple support through phone, and they verified that they can replace the keyboard again without any cost. I just only need to bring the device to any apple store.

So I scheduled an appointment to the store, named (Jump +). I was ask what's my concern, and I told the guy that I've been having the issue related to the keyboard repeating letters randomly. And the guy in the store is telling me that I need to pay for the "diagnostic fee" which is really inappropriate. I totally told him that this is a defect and why do I need to pay for the diagnostic fee. The apple support clearly say that I don't need to pay anything.

Any thoughts on this?

Resetting the SMC and your NVRAM:

Sometimes when changes are made to the system(updates), system configurations (i.e. for Bluetooth) become manipulated, technically. So, the SMC and NVRAM. It might take upto 3 attempts to reset each. So, be certain you have the time to so do. It might take up to three times to perform this successfully. Using an external keyboard may make it easy to reset this.

Wait for the Service to Take Place:

So, just let things stand while awaiting for service. Mention to the AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) about resetting the SMC and NVRAM. They'll probably try this on their own part. But, if that is unsuccessful, then they'll know where to go from there.
