On my dads iPhone the option for intercom response is blank, any idea on why this happens, and how to solve it? I’m referring to the orange button that says “Intercom”. The picture is just for reference (it’s not from the iPhone with the issue, just to point out where is the issue).

iOS 14.3 fixes this issue.
Perhaps if he turns the option for Intercom off and then on again in the Home app it will appear.

I have exactly the same problem. Three out of five family members have this button disabled in the intercom notifications.
Removing them from Home and re-adding -> no success
Tunring Intercom off and on -> no success
Checking notification Settings -> no success
Checking privacy settings, especially location services -> no success
I‘m Running out of ideas how to get this working again as I’m pretty sure that it worked at the beginning for all Home members.

Also having the same issue in our family. 3 family members but one device can't use the intercom button to reply.
And did the same steps as kra_ste.

Very frustrating not to be able to figure this one out, as it used to work for all 3 people and now it doesn't work for one person.
Who know when it will stop working for our other 2?
Just to show the example of OP's issue that I think people in here are dealing with like myself. Have tried multiple troubleshooting steps to resolve including removing and re-adding user, turning off then on Intercom feature from both the affected user as well from the Home creator account in Home settings, checking location services for Home, and checking notifications for Home.
Yes, it is connected. He can use intercom fine, the only issue is that button. For some reason it seems to be disabled.
Sadly I have no insight. I've only got one Apple ID to play with.
