Unstable FCP 10.5

Oooops. In my opinion after 2 days I see that FCP 10.5 is strong unstable. For example CoreMelt plugins need some upgrade because don't work (excluding Lock&Load which works ok), I have the problem with LUTs, which have the troubles from tome to time: the system locks up.

Unfortunately when something stops, the system locks up with our lovely colored ball forever. Do you also observe similar behavior in the FCP?

It looks, we have to wait for next upgrade.

Here are detailed instructions on how you may perform a clean install:

--------

1) VERY IMPORTANT - BACKUP! You are about to erase your system drive. Never do that without a backup - well, actually, you should have at least two... I recommend a Time Machine on one drive, and a full clone of your system drive in a separate one.

2) Download the full Catalina installer from the App Store. If the installer starts automatically, quit it.

3) Create an installer drive on a thumb drive, following the instructions here:

How to create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Supportsupport.apple.com › en-us

4) On recent macs, you may need to authorize booting from an external drive, which may be disabled by default. You do this in "Boot Security Utility".

Information about this is available in this support document:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208198

---- do not proceed further without a backup!!!! ----

5) Restart your mac holding the Option key, and select that installer disk to boot your mac

6) Use Disk Utility to reformat your internal drive as APFS

7) Quit Disk Utility and start the installer.

8) When asked, choose to migrate content from "another mac, time machine or drive".

IMPORTANT: elect to migrate ONLY user accounts; NOT applications, settings or other files

Your system is a dreadful mess.

You have remnants of avast and kaspersky.

You have lots and lots of old stuff, that were no longer compatible with Catalina or Mojave, let alone Big Sur.

Oh, and besides all that you have adware installed.

You have had a wonderful opportunity just this week when you installed Big Sur. You could have done a clean install and migrated just your accounts.

I strongly recommend you do a backup and a clean install now.

For the CoreMelt plugins producer, short information:

Hi ok my apologies, We tested with preview versions of macOS 11 and FCP X 10.5 before they were released. Unfortunately it seems like something minor changed in the release version that causes a timing issue and a hang. We believe this release will solve the issue

Great info!!!
