Mac mail flags not working - Big Sur

Since the Big Sur upgrade I can't flag emails. I use this facility a lot, so this is a real problem. Has anyone found a workaround?

Missing Flags in Column View

To see your email flags while using Column Layout:

  1. Go to the column headings bar and right click on any of the headings (From, Subject, etc.)
  2. A list of column options appears. Choose Flags to add a Flag column to your view.

Hi,

Actually, in my case I can flag my email but instead on being on the left side of email, where it was visible and clear, they suddenly decided to put it on the right side after the subject of the email, which is totally stupid as you cannot see it very well. See below.

Does anyone knows if or how we can put the flag back on the left, where it was visible and clear?

Thank you.

Exactly what I meant, the flag located in the inbox column, not in the message itself. Before it used to be on the left side, very clear and now it's after the title on the right, below time date/time of message, making it more difficult to spot. I tried to post a picture of my inbox in my original message but for some reasons it did not show the picture... My question is can we move the flag back to the left or can it only be changed by apple developers for a next update?
