Big Sur bluetooth problems

Whoops nope that fix didn't work either. I thought it had, don't know if I was mis-hearing where the sound was coming from or if it worked temporarily, but definitely not working anymore.

Recurring issue with both Apple and 3rd party hardware. It’s a little better than before after the update but the drops continue to plague me.

I have no HAL folder in Big Sur 11.2.2

Just Components, MAS, and VST

Any new advice?

I just updated to macOS 11.2.3 and now my bluetooth headphone does not work anymore...

Any idea how this could be solved?

My library audio plugins folders are already empty. No idea why or if they're supposed to be.

I'm using BigSur 11.2.2 and tried your suggestion. Unfortunately, it didn't change anything.

It detects some devices, but not others.

No, I'm afraid. However, randomly and for no apparent reason, my MBA started detecting and connecting with my Sony XM4 headphones. So, it may 'fix' itself? Still unacceptable, if you ask me.

I gave up. Surrender is your friend. The only way up is Linux and I don't have the patience.

Cables. Macs work with cables.

They're just old and decrepit like the MS gits they replaced.

My issue is I dont even have that HAL folder and the whole Plug-ins folder is 0kb. Nothing to delete.. :( any other suggestions?

The only way to fix bluetooth problems with big sur is to wipe the disk ( you will lose all your data, but this is the only way to do this) and reinstall the original software that came with your mac ( mine is El Captian) and then install that. Once that is done, reinstall the software, once set up, go to the internet and search " older versions of macOS". Select Mojave and download it, then install it. Once set up, try repairing your bluetooth devices. do not upgrade to catalina or big sur. Ignore any update reminders ( expect those for Mojave). I am using my bluetooth speaker and it is working well. hope this helps for some of you that have bluetooth issues.

I would not wipe anything even if you have MacOS Sur installed now. Keep using your laptop for at least a month. Keep it on if possible. Plug in wired peripherals. After a month, check your battery condition and see if service is required. Then try connecting peripherals via Bluetooth. It will work if no battery issues are found.

Same here... I tried to remove the plist, clear PRAM/NVRAM and even reset the bluetooth controller but my headset connection keeps dropping. It is a bit crazy of such an issue was not caught by Apple test team. In this period where everybody is stuck at home spending the day in confcall it is very very frustrating to be annoyed by such bug - hope to get a fix soon.
