Photos not showing up in Recents album

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a iPhone 12 Pro Max 512GB for my girlfriend but because she is upgrading from an iPhone XR 128GB previously, we couldn't transfer from iPhone to iPhone using the bluetooth transfer due to the amount of photos she has on the XR.

What I did was move a whole good size of photos from her XR to my MacBook Pro, leaving only photos taken in 2019 to 2020 in the XR. I did the iPhone to iPhone transfer, and put all the photos back again from the MacBook Pro to the 12 Pro Max.

However, her 12 Pro Max Recents album does not show the photos from the MacBook Pro. But the photos from the MacBook Pro shows in the Library album on her 12 Pro Max.

How do I move these photos into the Recents Album.

Thank you in advance!

Best Regards,

Aloysious

Hello AloysiousTan,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand having issues transferring photos to the new iPhone, and we'd be happy to look into this with you. We also, understand the concern with using the "Quick Start" method as she has a lot of photos on her old iPhone.

Have you considered creating a backup of her old iPhone on your computer or iCloud, then restore this backup on the new device?

Here's how:

Transfer data from your previous iOS device to your new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

We hope this information is useful. Kind regards.
