Only draw with Apple Pencil option not working

I have the new iPad Air 4th gen and want to only draw with my pencil and not my fingers I have enabled the ‘only draw with Apple Pencil’ option But my fingers are still creating marks when I’m drawing. I feel like I’ve tried everything and nothing stops my fingers creating marks when I touch the screen.
