MacBook Pro - power is not enough even connected to an outlet.

I have a MacBook Pro, bought 2 years ago and have ran into battery problems. When using apps like InDesign, Photoshop the computer runs out of power, even though the computer is connected to an electrical outlet. OK, if the computer runs out of power when just using the battery, but I´m using the computer connected to power. But it runs out anyway.

It’s possible for a Mac notebook to draw more power than the AC adapter provides. My 16” MBPs use a 96 W charger, and I’ve seen them draw up to 125 W under a heavy processing load. The extra power needed is drawn from the battery. So, what you’re experiencing is normal (unless your battery condition is not normal, that would exacerbate the issue – option-click the menu bar battery icon to check condition, or unless you’re using a charger lower in wattage than the one provided with your Mac).

If your routine use is running down the battery, you need a more powerful Mac.

Thanks for your reply. It sounds strange that a computer that costs + $2500, about 2 year old, can´t even handle normal usage in Photoshop and InDesign. I think one have to be a real Apple-fanatic to consider it as even close to normal. My 8 year old MacBook Pro has no problem at all dealing with the same circumstances. Nor my $300 PC. Do you think it is some kind of hardware error that can be reported as a warranty issue or are the new MacBook Pros not the same quality as it used to be.
