Same here. After updating Safari to 14.0.1 I was unable to upload any files. Called Apple support on 11/16/2020. They had me on hold for 45 minutes. When they finally connected me with a technician, I was on the line with him for another 40 minutes and resolved nothing. He suggested that I install Chrome or Firefox. Unbelievable, Apple installs a crappy update, they can’t fix it, and their solution is to install someone else’s software.
Workaround I've found is to manually open up a new finder window, locate the file and drag&drop it on the 'file upload' button you want to use.
I agree, it's ridiculous since the fix is probably very easy. Maybe the Apple software writers have gone on holiday.
I have the same problem but have found that I can still drag and drop files wherever it is that I need to upload them. It's not convenient but it works.
Yes, also a good tip! That has worked about 50-60% of the time for me, but definitely not all the time, especially with clunkier, older sites.
A bodge till Apple fixes it is manually open up a new Finder window and drag&drop the file onto the webpage's attach button.
As a workaround, you can drag the attachment from Finder and drop onto the email you are composing in Gmail on Safari. Copy and paste does not work.
Has there been an answer to this issue yet?
I have the same issue with Safari 14.0.1 running on Mojave 10.14.6 - Is this a know issue that Apple is working to rectify ?
And yes, I will report this bug to Apple. Thanks for the link.
For me, the bug is occurring with 14.0.2
There's a difference between Mojave and Catalina!
The translation of the German would be "Deactivate Content Blocker." I cannot find any such option in Safari's preferences.
I had the same problem; I solved by changing browser web; now i'm using Brave and it's all ok.
This has been broken for a few weeks now. Extremely annoying!
Safari 14.0.1 (14610.2.11.51.10) on MacOS 10.14.6
Still broken in 14.0.2 despite months of people submitting bug reports. Absolutely pathetic!!
