Zoom "Virtual Background" feature, lagging my macbook too hard!

Hello everyone,

I think it happened since I updated the recent software (Big Sur) - I can not use Virtual Background while using "Zoom" application on my MacBook Air 2020 (i5 512GB).

It does not make sense... It's like this feature is too heavy for my computer - what should not be since it was fine, and I don't believe this is something for Pros.

Did anyone else experience that? Any way to improve Zoom on noisy MacBook Air 2020?

Just want to add that I ran in the same situation after upgrading to Big Sur. My Zoom sessions (with virtual background) worked fine before (on 3h class meetings).

I had a chance to play with it but yesterday during another longer meeting and it is clearly the virtual background that slowly hogs the processor (over a few minutes) up to 98-99% (I didn't write down the process name , sorry, but its parent was Zoom). Turning off the virtual background during the meeting would make everything go back to normal: responsive and quick computer. Turn it on again and 3-4 minutes later even the BT mouse is lagging on the screen.

(MBP13 - 2020).
