Connect 4k@60 display to 2014 macbook pro retina 15

Hello,

I am using a 15 inch macbook pro mid 2014 with internal GPU.

I have a 4K LG tv that I use as my monitor.

It has HDMI 2.0 ports that work with my desktop 4K@60hz.

I just bought a miniDP (thunderbolt 2) adapter to HDMI 2.0, which should support 4K@60.

But I am still only getting 4K@30hz.

Are there things that I could do to make this work?

btw, I am on the latest version of macos Big Sur.

Thanks in advance

Robbe

Old issue / new issue / what changed?

Have you tried an Apple branded adapter as an alternative to test...
