Apple TV 4K Slow WiFi

Hi All,

I have searched the internet and been unable to locate a definitive answer to my question.

My issue is that the WiFi speed on my Apple TV 4K is awful. I have 1gb broadband and over WiFi can reach speeds of 650-750Mbps. When using the Apple TV this speed drops to 50-100Mbps.

This seems to have started following the new TVOS 14 update.

Does anyone know what could be causing this and what i can do to fix it?

I understand i could use Ethernet, however, i would rather avoid this due to the location of my router.

That indicates a network issue, other devices working would not rule that out.

Ethernet is often used during troubleshooting, and the distance between device and router can be a factor as far as these type of symptoms.

However, the other thing you can do is check the status of your network by getting a diagnostic report. Use istumbler (Mac), netstumbler (PC) or similar. This will show values for signal strength, noise, and also any nearby networks.
