I received text indicating my phone was hack and requested g for me to download this app

The text was a SCAM, and the App is worthless. Unfortunately, the App Store does not require that apps do anything useful, just that they won’t steal your data.
FOLLOWUP: The app is not in the App Store, so you would have to hack your phone to install it.
