Podcast Connect not connecting

Hello. I have created a podcast and have it running on several other platforms. Itunes, however, is not cooperating. I created an appleID, updated payment info, and submitted the podcast. Each time I try to login into Podcast Connect I get a message that states Podcasts Connect requires an iTunes Store account". The link bring me to a page explaining how to sign in from other devices, not correct this issue. I have logged into my account on my iphone and verified all info. I have spent an hour on the phone with apple (he was very nice, but apparently this is a black hole issue. I keep getting lost in a loop.) to be told to come here and ask the community.

For your Apple ID - if you have an iOS device - go and download a free app - any free app will do. Sometimes the act of downloading the free app fixes this issue.
