Iphone 12 Pro Max needing double tap for Apple pay.

Just got my Iphone 12 pro max and is very hard to use Apple pay. Every time when i pay on eftpos it is showing me the cards and then requires double tap on power button to confirm. The phone is already unlocked by Face ID and then again requires double tap.

Some time the phone is confused and is bringing the wallet app to select a card, which i already have set up. My default card is already set up.

can some one from the Apple software senior advisory team comment.
