My ipad is not detecting the smart folio keyboard.

I have already updated the iOS, turned the ipad off, disconnected the keyboard... everything that is recommended in the Apple Support website, however the problem persists.

iPad, iOS 9

Incompatibility May be the Culprit:

What is the version of the iOS you have installed. You need iOS 13.4 or later to use on of these. See here:

To Use a Smart Keyboard Folio, you need

  • iPad Pro 11-inch (1st or 2nd generation)
  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd or 4th generation)

What is the version of you iPad? Is it one of the above? If not, it is incompatible with your iPad.

As described, you folio keyboard may have a fault.

The most common cause of failure is fracture of the electrical connections that pass through the flexible fabric hinges of the folio keyboard. This issue is often accompanied by on-screen notifications of an unsupported accessory. It is often reported here that this failure, if seen, occurs at around one year of regular use.

If you folio keyboard has failed, the only remedy is replacement. You might be best advised, if you are able, to take both you iPad and keyboard along to the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store - where both can be tested and assessed.
