FCP 10.5 - R3D RED Code raw MAJOR ISSUE!

Hi there,

I started having lots of issues with the latest version of FCP and R3D raw from my RED Gemini and RED Komodo on updated projects or on new projects.

Footage sometimes shows up green in the preview and turns black in the timeline. It's particularly bad in multicam clips or as I start changing the raw settings adding camera LUT or color adjustments. The footage plays fine in RED Player or on other editing softwares like Davinci or Premiere.

Tried re installing the RED workflow installer, I was on V17, tried back to V16, still not working. All my projects were working fine before all the recent updates (Big Sur and FCP 10.5), not sure what to do.

On top of this, FCP crashes a lot when it used to be very stable.

I use a 2019 MBP 16inch fully specd with 2.4ghz 8 core i9, 64gb or ram and the AMD 5500M. Editing of a Samsung T7 2TB external SSD.

I saw on other forums that I wasn't the only one with this issue. Apple, what to do?

this has nothing to do with my problem. EtreCheck report is questionnable as there are no fusion drives near me and my raid has 30TB available.

After exchanging on some RED users facebook pages, I found out that I was not the only one and a few people are having the same issue and it affects particularly R3D files that are over 5min long. Someone even mentioned that Apple was aware of the problem and working on it

Your drives are FULL- and dangerously so.

The system drive only has 32GB free. This does not allow the system any room to do its stuff.

The RAID has about 1% free space, not good.

And to compound things I see this -EXTREMELY PUZZLING since this is a MacBook Pro with a 1TB SSD:

disk1s1 - Macintosh HD (APFS) [Fusion Drive] (Shared)
          disk1s1s1 - Macintosh HD

Why the words “Fusion Drive” would ever show in a machine that does not have two physical internal drives is beyond me...

No they are not full

My MBP is a few months old, I didn't do anything crazy with it other than pressing start and installing software for the app store, I definitely don't have a fusion drive...

My ssd is fairly low at the exact moment of the report as I was data wrangling and offloading files to dropbox.

My screenshot and problem happens with 700gb free on the local MBP SSD and editing of a brand new 2TB Samsung T7 with 1TB available and formated mac OS extended (journaled)

My raid (Drobo 5D3) has 30TB available, not sure why the report says otherwise but I'm not editing of it so it's non relevant
