locked out of my Macbook. doesn't recognize my password or give any option for reset.
suggestions?

It's a piece of crap. Spent a day trying to reinstall/clean and still doesn't work. Trying to return it right now and even that is a mess. It's somehow still linked to my apple id even though I've wiped everything and removed it from my devices.
Bummed with apple on this. I only decided to get this because my 2017 air is unusable after the big sur update.
I was able to reset password using terminal instructions, then had to remove computer from iCloud and then register it again for everything to work. Thanks for the help.

Same. My password just stopped working, and so did my Touch ID. Now all of my Safari passwords are missing. Seems like a bug to me.
I changed to ABC plus a few others and it was still saying incorrect password. Haven’t had the issue since.
Aa, sorry. This was already suggested. "On the login screen, check the right upper corner if the keyboard layout has changed to "ABC". Just select correct language and try login again."
This worked perfectly and didn’t lose data!
How can I get fix this????
