iPhone 12 pro max charging

I was wondering how long an iPhone 12 pro max ideally takes to reach from 0% to 100% on a 20W charger. I drained my phone to 0 today as it was frist to check if everything was fine and let it charge for almost 2h but it had only charged up-to 97% and it became really slow once it had reached 95%. The battery life is 100% and optimized charging is on. Please let me know if this is normal.

Also how often should I charge my device to improve my battery health? And how much should I charge it to?

It also became really hot for the first 50% during fast charge, would be advisable to use it around that period or should I always wait once it hits 50% marker to use it?

Thank you for your time.

Same is happening to my iPhone 12 Pro. It seems that battery remains at 97% but eventually it reaches 100%. I had the same concern, after 95% charging got very slow but I talked to Apple Support, made a diagnose test to m y phone and everything is working fine. He told me fast charge is until 80%, then it will do it slowly and finally, 95-100 is the slowest range of the process.

Also when you hit 97% you can restart your phone and you will see 100%, I also think it is a software issue probably fixed in iOS 14.3.
