my iphone xs is stuck on preparing update for update 14.1, I have restarted thrice!! It cannot seem to get past two thirds.

New iPhone 11 stuck on iOS 14.0.1 software update during set up I have just received a new iPhone 11 this morning and have been trying to set it up. However, whenever I try to install the iOs 14.0.1 software update, it gets stuck on the "preparing update" section - I first tried using quick start to copy over data and settings, but the phone got stuck for an hour during this process. Having looked on the forum to see what other users have done, I have then tried updating it as a new iphone rather than using quick start to copy over data and settings but this does not help. It continued to stick at this point. I have the phone connected to wi-fi and plugged into mains. Can support help please? Thank you David

IOS 14 update stuck on “Preparing Update” I recently purchased an IPhone 8+ and while setting it up, every time I try to install the required software update it gets stuck on the “preparing update” screen. Other fixes I have found are for Iphones that have already been set up, and I haven’t been able to find the fix for this problem on a brand new iPhone. Please help!

I had this problem as well. I solved it by turning my VPN off and then trying again. Are you by chance using a VPN?
