Stop Messages syncing via iCloud

Hi,

I use the same Apple ID on my iPhone 12 and IPad Air 4. I only want my messages (texts & iMessages) from my phone to be on my phone if that makes sense. How do I stop them coming through on my iPad?

Don’t want syncing I have an iPhone and an iPad both having the same Apple ID. Messages on my iPhone appear on my iPad as well. The iPad is used by my wife, so every time I send or receive a message she is able to read them giving me no privacy. I would like to stop my messages going to my iPad. How can I do that?

Turn off Messages on the iPad, or turn on Do Not Disturb on the iPad.
