Getting this error when trying to install Big Sur.
Tried redownloading from App Store, no download for this on their download site. Tried making bootable media from it, same error. Wiped drive for fresh OS install, same error. First Aid Utility on the SSD, same install.
I've tried everything I've found here already, adding my voice to the mix. Early 2015 mac book pro
are you using wi-fi? it's been recommended here before to use a wired internet connection to download an OS upgrade as there is too much data being passed for wi-fi to handle and the download can get corrupted.

you're welcome. from what i understand, many people have issues with wi-fi for downloading OS upgrades. i understand the ease of use with wi-fi for bringing your MacBook from room to room. but everyone should have a ethernet cable for OS downloads. anyways, i hope it works for you. (as i believe it will.)
Download it again. It's a huge file.
I've downloaded and redownloaded 5-6 times. Pulling the same file from their servers and trying it doesn't make a difference.
I think that's ridiculous considering a majority of people don't even own an ethernet adapter. But it's something I haven't tried! I'll give it a shot thank you.
i should have added, erase the previous big sur downloads before trying again.
I think that did it, thank you! Can't believe it worked, WiFi or ethernet really shouldn't matter with modern com protocols lol
