When will a fix be available for Bir Sur OS to support HDMI?

Since upgrading to Big Sur, I haven't been able to connect to my Visio TV via HDMI. Cannot detect the display either. To make sure it wasn't the HDMI port itself, I tried a HDMI/Thunderbolt adapter - that didn't work either. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Hmm... unfortunately don't have another HDMI monitor of any type I could experiment with. I realize the HDMI port itself could be the problem but using an adapter with the other ports didn't work either. Guess I'll have to keep working at it.

Quick update: no change ... Apple still does need to fix this, since I've also tested this on both my work-assigned laptop and my wife's laptop just to make sure it wasn't specific to mine.

I have been using a dedicated (non-HDMI) monitor since my last post but miss streaming directly to my TV.

Found Danielee715's post informative (thought about getting a used MacMini) and pushed the 'Correct answer' button, so please don't believe the disingenuous 'Solved' tag (looks like another thing Apple has to fix).

MacBook Pro 15" Retina display (2015-ish? can't recall) - has an HDMI port on the right side, USB and 2 Tbolts on the left. Don't have a USBC dock.
