Office 365 applications won't start after upgrading from Catalina to Big Sur

Hi all

I am facing some problems with recent upgrade from Catalina to Big Sur, Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) now fail to open & crash at launch time.

I have tried to remove & reinstall Office, this won't help. Safe mode won't help either.

Actually what works, is to create another User, fresh profile.. there Office will start.

There is something that went wrong in the Catalina to Big Sur profile migration, and this is interfering with Office 365.

Is there any way to fix the profile in some ways? Or am I forced to use a 2nd profile now and reconfigure every preference, migrate my emails, documents etc?

Thanks

BR

Okay fixed it... ! Problem was related to permissions... from corrupt user profile, I opened a Terminal window and run :-

diskutil resetUserPermissions / `id -u`

Everything is fine now.

Cheers
