copy automation

I'm no longer able to copy and paste automation between tracks in Logic Pro 10.6. I've tried following Apple's instructions. Anyone else had this issue and found a solution please?

How to copy automation to a different track without copying the notes in the track I select automation in a track (volume) and then paste to a different track. The copied automation shows up in the other track but the other content of the track is also pasted. I am unable to just paste the automation. What am I missing?

Logic Pro X: Sync Problems Every time I drag a loop onto a track and play along with it and play it back, it is out of sync and I'm not able to drag the clip into alingment. I have the same problem trying to play along with an imported audio track. If anyone can help me with this it would be appreciated.
