I select automation in a track (volume) and then paste to a different track.
The copied automation shows up in the other track but the other content of the track is also pasted.
I am unable to just paste the automation. What am I missing?
It actually works when I use Command > C and Command > V for copy and paste instead of using Edit > Copy and Edit > Paste. Go figure!

Did you choose the Automation Select Tool?
I did; automation line changes from orange to white, I do Edit > Copy, select the other track, do Edit > Paste. But it seems to copy the entire track content and then pastes that into the other track.
I tried exactly that but it copies ALL content to the other track, not only automation.
Following these instructions, I’m able to copy automation.
