When I attempt to install iCloud for Outlook mail I get error: Error: 0x80070005: DataProviderRegistered

When I attempt to install iCloud for Outlook mail I get 2 errors:

Error: 0x80070005: DataProviderRegistered

Error: 0x80070005:

ZebraMapiCopySession::CanCreateZebraStore: CreateMessageService failed

This has been the case since the software moved to the Windows store. I have the install log as well (but can't figure out how to attach it to this post).

The iCloud app works fine for the iCloud drive and Photos, but gives these errors when I attempt to add mail.. This is a Windows 10 PC..

Windows, Windows 10

Hey bill12too!

Sounds like you’re familiar already with using iCloud with Outlook for Windows, just in case, check out these two articles:

Download iCloud for Windows:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204283

Get help using Outlook with iCloud for Windows:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204571

If still having troubles installing, typically for Windows, I’d temporarily disable any security/firewall/antivirus/network filtering software I have running, which maybe the cause.

Or if you need to, allow the install from Windows Defender/Firewall to let it finish.

I’m not sure on the specifics. But with an 0xE type error on Windows when it relates to iCloud, I’ve had luck just doing a normal restart of your PC, and make sure to disconnect any external drives or monitors connected.

Likewise, if you do have an older version of iCloud for Windows, I may uninstall it in the Control Panel before installing the new version:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201391

Best of luck, let me know if I can help further, happy to if I’m able to, Windows and Mac OS are two different worlds, but they try to work together, and although I’m rusty on the Windows side, happy to give any input, cheers!

DiZoE,

I appreciate your timely and thoughtful response :) I have tried every thing suggested, but get the same error message.

Here are the changes I have made:

  • I didn't have and iCloud email address previously (didn't need one with the old software), but created one anyway.
  • Disabled all the virus protections I have (Norton and Acronis) or know about
  • Confirmed I don't have an old version of the software installed
  • Confirmed the iCloud addi-n is installed in Outlook (see below)
  • Ran a repair on the Office 365 and iCloud apps

Here is a picture of the error I get:

Here is a link to the error log:

Here is a picture of the Outlook add-ins:

I hope this helps...

Thanks again,

Hey again! Thanks for the info, really helpful.

I’d first, if you haven’t already check out:

Get help using Outlook with iCloud for Windows:

If the steps in there, (there are several), don’t work, I believe I’ve seen this before to where you had to make some adjustment to the “default data file” in the Outlook settings, but can’t remember specifically now.

Maybe this article can shed some light:

https://www.slipstick.com/problems/outlook-and-icloud-default-data-files/

I’m not too fluent in Outlook, but let me know how any of the steps worked out, happy to help if I can, cheers!
