How much free space do you have on your boot drive?

Run Disk Utility First Aid on the boot drive. I recommend running First Aid on the Container as well, but in order to select the Container you need to click on "View" within Disk Utility and select "Show All Devices" before the Container is seen on the left pane of Disk Utility. Even if First Aid shows everything is "Ok" click on "Show Details" and make sure there are no unfixed errors listed.

Have you rebooted your Mac?
