FaceTime crashing/freezing when unplugging headphones during call - Macbook Pro (2020) Catalina
When I am on FaceTime on my MacBook Pro (2020, Catalina), if I unplug my headphones half way through a call it freezes the call until I plug them back in again? It freezes content both ends, with no video or audio input or output from me or to me until I reinsert my headphones to the jack and then it resumes working and the audio and video returns to normal. In the end if I need to change from headphones to loud during a call, I have to end the call, unplug my headphones and then ring them again and it works fine. Why can't I unplug my headphones from the jack mid-call and continue the call via the speakers?
I always try and do a whole call on loud if I know I may need to unplug my headphones at any point to allow another person to contribute, but it's not always possible/perceivable and I prefer to have some confidentiality for the person on the other end by using headphones until/unless we want to invite someone else onto the call or unless privacy/confidentiality doesn't matter. I know it may seem insignificant but it's something I face on a weekly basis.
