OBS is an application that allows to change the frame per second rate on the camera, but it doesn’t work with Face Time

Unfortunately this did not work for me. Whatever I put in the fps the flickering ws there. I also did not get it to work in zoom. I'm really so frustrated about this.

Thanks man, it works fine.. atleast a temporary workaround. lets hope Apple responds soon.

No it's not, it now flickers every 5 seconds for 1 second on Big Sur 11.2, which is just as bad 😏

I don't see the flickering you mentioned, it seems the 11.2 update solved it.

I've tried with FT and Teams on MBA, M1, 2020.

Have exactly the same since we replaced the Macbook with Mac Air M1 and went to Big Sur - suddenly the webcam image in Zoom, Skype, FaceTime etc etc flickers with bands running down the frame suggesting a refresh rate issue, but of course you can't tweak that in webcam or display settings. The workaround below, installing OBS with FPS set to 25, more or less fixes the problem cosmetically (thank you sles5). Its a slight inconvenience, but keeps my wife's business running.. Rumour has it that the beta of BigSur 11.2.2 corrects the issue, but I am not brave enough to install a Beta on my wife's Mac Air ;-). When 11.2.2 is finally released I hope this massively inconvenient bug will be fixed.

I suppose it really is. And if that’s the case, it is likely to be fixed with an update or simply a button for us to switch between 50/60 Hz given that some apps from App Store allow users to do that. But somehow Big Sur/M1 chip renders those apps useless.
