Epson printer don’t work in Wi-Fi.

My printer Epson SX430W doesn't work if I install it on my MacBook Air in Wi-Fi with Bonjour. How can I fix that? I'd like to use it in Wi-Fi and not in usb mode.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.0

Hi,

The Stylus SX430W is not in the list in About AirPrint - Apple Support. Normally, this means that a printer does not support the driverless AirPrint technology.

The SX430W is a printer from circa 2011. This was in the beginning of the AirPrint era. As early as 2012, other Epson printers (such as the Stylus SX440W and SW445W) could be found in the iOS: AirPrint 101 (HT4356, February 13, 2012). Nothing about the SX430W then (but one should perhaps not completely rule out that an AirPrint capability may have been added by a later firmware update/change). It should be easy to find out by attempting a corresponding printer selection on a Mac, or by a direct test (without special apps) against an iPhone/iPad .

Even without AirPrint capabilities, the printer could of course be used with Wi-Fi, but you would then have to find and install an appropriate printer driver for macOS 11 Big Sur. Could https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252070722?answerId=253935380022#253935380022 possibly be of some interest? There have been a number of reports about problems solved by using a driver v10.85 for one printer with another model.

Also, disregarding the printing problem for a moment, is it possible to wirelessly connect the printer to a Wi-Fi router?
