Printers compatible with Big Sur

I just don't understand why people update the OS when it comes out. All operating systems have issues for a while. What does Big Sur give you that older OS don't, apart from the ability to not be able to use your other equipment? I'm still using Mojave and High Sierra on an old Mac Pro and they run fine. I might not have dark mode on High Sierra but they work fine. I just don't understand the need to upgrade so quickly.

Canons ditch their support since Mojave i think it was or earlier.

I dont like that you cant use the printer with a newer MacOS.

I lost $270. Staples would not return the printer after two weeks, HP insisted they would send me a printer that works. it did not work. I returned one HP sent me, So I still have a HP I can not use with my mac. so out the money I sent, trying to sell it. What a sad sad story for mac's I have a new Big Sur , with the USB-C that is difficult also I have had to purchases adapters, and find a cover that had the open space to put in the new adapters for the port!!

I just got off the phone again with another senior advisor, and he said AirPrint was the same as a WiFi printer. He also told me what a genius he was. Am I being misinformed again. There are no drivers for my printer.

Purchased new imac m1, both printers are not cooperating! HP Photosmart C7280 All in One and HP Laserjet P1102W, both are fairly old so I'm to optomistic, but you never know. I did try HP photosmart series 7200 and it would only print text and not all the time.

canon does not support it so if the older driver they had bundled with macOS does not work then you likely needs to take it up with them

My AirPrint canon doesn’t work with big sur, or iPhones with latest upgrade

Is Big Sur compatible with my HP DeskJet 3050A. It stopped printing after the update.

That was it. For some reason I was just pushing to use a cable to connect the printer to some device . . . defies having a wireless printer and using all its capabilities. Thank you very much.
