As the title says when i backup square photos on Mac from iPhone 12 the photos are not square anymore.
On the phone i can see them in 1:1 but on Mac the aspect ratio is deferent.
It's an iOS or macOS issue? I'm using the latest on both devises.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities, and from your post it appears that square photos are not keeping their aspect ratios when viewing on the Mac. We'll do what we can to help.
If you use iCloud, see if they appear correctly on the iCloud website: iCloud
If you don't use iCloud, try removing one of the photos from the Mac then sync it again: Sync photos between your Mac and iPhone or iPad

Hi there. Thanks for the reply.
A few days now i was using Airdrop to transfer the photos.
Uploading the photos on a shared album on iCloud it works just fine and is much easier than Airdrop and solves the problem for me.
