Asus ZenScreen MB16AC Not working with MAC Catalina (STRANGE SOLUTION)

Not a question- but a SOLUTION! Read many posts as this new ZenScreen was not working with my 5 year old MacBook Pro. I kept turning it on and would get the same "this device doesn't work with DP Alt mode... download the latest drive and try again..." I downloaded the driver, tried installing it, and it would repeatedly give me the message that a newer version was already installed. I was doing everything the video was saying and then getting the same message again and again. Each time I plugged the monitor in (on the right side of my MAC using the needed Type A and Type C connector) same thing. Just before I gave up (after hours of trying the same thing) and packed the monitor up I thought, "well... there is another USB port on the left side of my mac, I'll try that one." And boom- it worked. Have NO idea why that made a difference, but everything booted up just fine. Go figure. Otherwise it doesn't appear another solution is mentioned anywhere online. Crazy.
