Focusing issues on iPhone 12 Pro Max

Ever since I bought the new iPhone, I have been experiencing focusing issues on both the main and the telephoto camera (I don't think that the ultrawide even has AF, but regardless, I haven't had issues with that one), in pretty much any kind of scenario. I have read online that other people were experiencing this issue too, but just for close-up subjects, whereas mine just seems to miss the focus quite often. It's true that most of the time, the subject is relatively close to the camera but, for example, mirror selfies using the telephoto are impossible because the LiDAR sensor focuses on the mirror itself instead of focusing on the real subject, no matter how many times i try to set the focus point manually on a contrasty place. I've even had moments when i took a picture of somebody standing 1-2 meters away from me and the focus was on the wall behind them instead of themselves (using the main camera). I can't trust the focus on this camera at all and it's really frustrating because when the focus is right, the photos are stunning and sharp and it makes me want to take pictures of anything. Also, it's quite funny that this kind of thing can happen on a phone this expensive in 2020. I'm just dissapointed mostly but at the same time really angry when it doesn't work. Can anyone tell me if they are working on a fix of this thing please? Thank you for reading!

Exactly! My dad's 8 plus works perfectly, the XS that i came from works perfectly and I have never heard of any previous iPhones that had this issue. As I said, I'm pretty sure that this has something to do with the LiDAR sensor and the main sensor not working together properly, but the hardware for the cameras is great. It seems to be a pretty easy software fix that they SHOULD be working on (since this is most definitely not "expected behaviour" for a 2020 flagship with the supposedly terrific LiDAR scanner), but looking back at Apple's usual responses to a problem, they might never fix it and just hope that nobody notices. I still hope that they fix it because otherwise it's a great phone, but who knows...
