Pro Max 12 focusing accuracy unreliable compared with iphone 10, 11 camera s - input sought
New 12 pro max on 3/31/21
please see its settings below;
conditions: daylight bright & daylight overcast across subjects still and vid - subjects are not moving to slow methodical movement (eg wood duck s on water surface; not getting up to fly) - no hs sports (yet); people portraiture - landscape
Starting using each of the lenses, the subject is centered, ignoring the rule of thirds and rather trial and erroring to discover @ lens' 'sweet spot' for different conditions with 12 P M lenses.
> 30% of images are out of focus. As videographer, photographer experienced w dslr & narrowly with iphone 10 S Max + the 11 s my habit dictates 1 subject centered in frame; 2, iphone screen is "tapped" deploying the focusing square + correct exposure; 3 shutter steadily depressed.

My icloud subscription across many iphones is ON; my original stills and videos are stored onboard the 12 p m. The stills and videos which exhibit unreliable focus given the light and conditions for imaging do, upon careful examination whether on board the 12 or 'in' the cloud appear to be identical.
