4th Gen 2020 M1 Mac mini bluetooth issues with Magic Mouse2

Just got the brand new Mac mini (M1, 2020 8gb and 256gb - macOS big sur 11.0.1). The bluetooth connection between my Magic Mouse 2 and the mini drops during use (2-3 times an hour). The drop is very odd too - it always drops twice in quick fashion (it drops, I wiggle the mouse and click, it reconnects then immediately drops where I wiggle/click again and it connects for a longer period of time).

I worked with apple support who had me remove the plist files, but after rebooting I ran into the same issues. Any advice?

I have the mini connected via usb c cable to my acer 27" monitor. I use the same mouse, keyboard, monitor, and cable to connect to my 2018 MacBookpro 13 (Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7) and have never had issues. I even plugged in the MacBookpro after getting my mini to see if it was happening there again - nope. It's only the mini.

I may have "fixed" the issue with the Magic Mouse disconnecting and reconnecting repeatedly. System Preferences/Bluetooth/Advanced...uncheck "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer". The issue was happening all morning (and since I received the M1 Mac Mini) and has stopped since I unchecked the box. I am using a USB Keyboard, so that is how I will wake from sleep. So far, so good though.

This problem is all over the internet.

I have the Mac Mini M1 (8/256), new Magic Mouse 2 and new Magic Keyboard. The keyboard does not drop out. The mouse drops out approximately 5 times every 10 minutes. It is confirmed on the monitor that the mouse is disconnected/reconnected. I have tried powering down devices to no avail. No peripherals are nearby or connected other than a Dell display and the keyboard/mouse.

At this point, the device cannot be used for productivity work. I will need to send it back if there is no software patch to fix. While I have had intermittent bluetooth issues with Apple devices in the past, this is different. They were random and did not occur often.

Running out of time here Apple. Still haven't seen/heard of a fix for this? What is your plan to address?

Currently using a wired mouse with my new M1 Mac Mini, after a complete meltdown this AM (wireless mouse and keyboard disconnecting constantly). At least with an M1 MacBook you have a built in mouse and keyboard for emergencies. With the Mac Mini its hopeless. May have to exchange the Mini for a new MacBook.

Need some guidance. Anyone heard anything definitive? Has Apple even figured out what the problem IS yet?

Yes, I am having the same issue.

New M1 Mac Mini (16GB 256GB Big Sur 11.0.1), trying to use Logitech MX Master 3 mouse and keyboard.

Whether I connect via bluetooth or via the Logi Unified Receiver, the mouse pointer stutters. My mouse and keyboard do not disconnect, but the stutter is very annoying and hampers audio/video/photo editing.

Interestingly, if I turn off bluetooth on the Mac completely (going only through the Unified Receiver) then the stuttering *seems* to stop. Although I obviously cannot then use any other bluetooth devices.

Also having issues with audio over HDMI to a screen. Any audio playing through Safari sent over HDMI quickly degrades and then breaks up and then stops. If I change the source to the tiny internal Mac speaker, that is still working. Only way to make audio play again on the HDMI connection is to refresh the browser page and restart the stream. Weird.

Not sure if those two issues are connected in any way.

Up to now, I had only noticed problems with the Magic Mouse 2. However, I can affirm the problems others have had with their bluetooth headsets. Today I have had intermittent dropouts with the original AirPods and low fidelity sound with background white noise. When the AirPods were switched to the iPhone 12 mini using the same song, the song went back to full fidelity and the white noise was absent. When I switched back to the Mac mini, the low fidelity sound with white noise returned.

I restarted the Mini. The AirPods starting playing for about 30 seconds with low fidelity and white noise through just one pod. Then the music dropped out for 2-3 seconds and full fidelity music returned to the AirPods.

I had placed an order for the mini-mac prior to the threads appearing about the Bluetooth/wireless issue. I was deeply disappointed and canceled my order. I need to rely on pretty much all wireless/Bluetooth connections in my home. Couldn't justify purchasing a product that pretty much begs wireless connection, with so many issues. I would like not to believe these issues had to have been known at release. I'm sitting back to see how well Apple responds to this issue before reconsidering my purchase. In the meantime I'm looking at the benefits of a mac mini versus MacBook air with docking station to provide portability but also desk top use connected to a monitor. I hear that OS is finnicky about monitors and pixel density?

Any way - deeply disappointed. Was looking forward to returning to a MAC desktop.
