Cable needed for backing up iPhone 6S on new Mac Air M1

The new Air has two Thunderbolt 3 ports. I have an older iPhone 6 that I'll want to plug in to do backups. If I buy a Lightning to USB-C cable, will it allow me to plug in to the computer for phone backups? I'm not finding any cables configured with Thunderbolt on one end and USB-C on the other.

A Lightning to USB-C cable will connect the iPhone to Thunderbolt 3.
