Syncing two different devices

I have a 2015 Macbook and an iMac . Is there a way to sync the two so I can use the macbook and still see the progress on the desktop (like annotating PDFs etc)?

iMac Line (2012 and Later)

You can use an iCloud or other cloud service like GoogleDrive, OneDrive, etc. to synchronize documents and data across multiple devices.
