Factory Settings for Hard disk Partition, volume & Containers

Hello,

I have macbook pro 2018. I accidently deleted the partitions of my macbook. And tried to install from internet recovery. But it ended up with space issues, while there is 250 GB space free on which it is being installed. I think it needs some extra volume or container for the temporary files may be.

Can any one help me with the default partition volume and containers sizes by default provided by apple factory settings.

Hey there, Ali.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! Thanks for posting about the trouble you've run into when trying to reinstall macOS on your MacBook Pro. We'd be glad to see how we can help.

You mentioned accidentally deleting partitions on the drive. Did you delete every partition or just a specific one? Are any partitions present now, or is it completely blank? Also, which version of macOS was installed at the time? This could be important as macOS 10.15 and later handle partitions a little differently, so it'll be important that we're accurate with that info.

Check out Partition a physical disk in Disk Utility on Mac for some specifics dealing with segmenting up your drives. If you're looking to start over completely, you can see steps on How to erase your Intel-based Mac here. This would remove and then recreate all partitions on a specific disk, so it's important that any important data be backed up before that step is taken.

Let us know what you find out.

Take care.
