Text just disappears when in Word MacOS

You are on the right track. Re-install MS Word. Since you are on your school's Office 365 account, you can probably reinstall all Office apps. If you can then do just that.

Go to Microsoft Communities. There's an answer there under Microsoft 365 and Big Sur (issues?) The fix takes a bit of doing but isn't hard. Seems to work, so far.

Did you try reinstalling? If so, did it work?

I have the same problem and would like to hear your experience so that I know whether this could be worthwhile or whether I would just be wasting my time...

Sadly, I replied too soon. After reinstalling Word and Excel after the Apple upgrade I am still have issues with the text disappearing.

I am having the same issue. Trying to write out my last essay for law school and this is unbelievably frustrating. Anyone have any luck with any solutions?

I reinstalled the whole Office Suite but it did nothing to help. Someone in this string got help from the Microsoft community page. Look up Microsoft 365 and Apple Big Sur. It's a process but I'm told it works. I'm planning to try myself.

After reinstalling Word and Excel on my iMac I am not encountering this issue anymore. ( have not tested in in "track changes" again.) BUT, I made the mistake of not reinstalling Outlook and having the issue there now. So, I recommend reinstalling everything, which is a total pain but better than having to go back and do another round later.

I am encountering the same issue every since I downloaded the latest iMac update.

This is driving me nuts and I cannot work steadily. Everything is taking double the time it used to!
