Adobe Reader pdf icon not shown in email attachments

After updating to macOS Ventura, Adobe Reader pdf icon disappeared in Email attachment's. Instead a little white icon is shown. This also happens with pdf files downloaded with Safari.

In Finder the icons are shown correctly. I use Outlook as email program. I tried if the same happens with Apple Email app, and yes its the same.

Anyone has the same problem? Any solution? I don't know if its a Ventura problem, or a Adobe Reader problem.

I had this issue since Mac OS Ventura was released (October 2022). Now after approximate 6 months it is solved with the version 13.4. All the pdf attachments, using Outlook far Mac, are shown with the little red Adobe Icon.

What surprises me is that Apple needed 6 months to solve this, considering that we are talking of one of the "leader" companies in technology. This should never have appeared, it should have been corrected before launching the final version, for that are the beta versions. Hope it remains fixed now.

Although that Adobe Acrobat icon may provide you with visual attachment solace, it may not be what the recipients Mail client shows them, and you would have no control over that fact.

I have been using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC for years, but not Adobe Acrobat Pro, and in Ventura 13.0.1, nothing I can do will revert the PDF icons to the familiar Adobe PDF icon. Even a PDF modified in a current Nitro PDF editor and saved with a new name still bears the blank, or Preview logo PDF icon. Do you also have Adobe Acrobat Pro installed?

I have hundreds of PDFs here that were created by one Adobe product or another on Windows and Mac for several years and they do not present as Adobe PDF icons in the Finder in Ventura 13.0.1. Not even PDFs directly from Adobe.

Even if you switch off icon preview and change the default opening application to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, a PDF does not show an Adobe icon in the Finder, nor when dropped on a new Apple Mail compose window. I don't believe this is limited to Ventura as I do not recall ever seeing an Adobe icon when attaching PDFs in prior macOS versions.

I don't have Adobe Pro installed only Adobe DC Reader. I know that it is not a bid issue but to have the icon on attached files to emails was a nice detail to identify quickly the type of file. In another computer still with Mac OS Monterrey, this problem doesn't exist. So something happened with the pdf icons on attached pdf files to emails and the update to Mac OS Ventura. Perhaps Apple or Adobe take care of this and correct it in a future update.
