Cant' update to Big Sur - update not found the requested version of macos is not available

I have a MacBook Pro late 2013 and when I look for updates in System Preferences I have nothing to update. If I try to update to Big Sur by App Store I receive the following sentence:

update not found the requested version of macos is not available

I am very disappointed about this. All server status are on, the OS has been released 11 days ago and I have no VPN or other programs running that could create problems. Obviously I have enough space in the HD.

I had same issue on my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017). It turns out that I had to install other updates, which were not shown in System Preferences. I've listed all available updates from terminal:

sudo softwareupdate -l

This command found two updates: "macOS Catalina Security Update" and "Safari14.0.3CatalinaAuto". After installing them with following command:

sudo softwareupdate -i -a

and restarting the system I was able to upgrade to Big Sur from System Preferences.

I spoke with second level Apple support for about 6h ( SIX h) on the phone. They didn't told me nothing about any issue with mine or other Macbook Pro. I rebooted with cmd+alt+R about 10 times (6 to 10 minutes each time). They didn't know what to do... I'm totally disappointed.

I formatted the SSD, installed from 0 Catalina, downloaded Big Sur on another Mac and tried to instal from USB. NOTHING!

Each time I had message like (OS unavailable, can't download some files, OS no supported).

I would have think the Apple support knews about it and that Apple itself told us that momentanelly Big Sur in not available for MacBook Pro 2013 and 2014. One again, I'm totally disappointed.

I have same issue. I have MacBook pro, iMac, and Mac Mini all purchased on same day. Mac Pro and Mac Mini can be update but the more expensive iMac can't. It does not make sense that the laptop is outliving the supposed to be the top if the line desktop I used to be a diehard apple person but lately I am more disappointed everyday in the quality of the product they are producing.
