Mail issues MS Exchange in Apple Mail / macOS Big Sur 11.0.1

Hi all,

I'm experiencing (Apple) mail issues while retrieving MS Exchange account, using macOS Big Sur (v 11.0.1): mail is not visible in my (all) inbox(es), but on iPad/iPhone it works fine.

When I rebuild the mailboxes the 'missing' mail becomes visible. But... I have to do the same thing (rebuild) over and over again :(

Anyone got a clue? Or experiencing the same problems?

Love to hear!

Found a solution - at least for me - to the Mac Mail App sync issue with Office 365 exchange mail server. Quite the Mail App. From the Finder, "Go" in ~/Library/Mail/V8/MailData. Once there, move out of the folder (I just moved to the Desktop) the file "Envelope Index". Afterward, re-open the Mail App. The file will then automatically re-created. After the end of this re-creation, everything worked fine. It seems to be related (I'm not an expert, though) to the corruption of index files in Local Folders. It may take a while if you have many messages in your Local Folders (more than 16 Million in my case and it took about one hour). Hope this helps

Similar issues here. Just updated to Big Sur over this past weekend on my 2019 iMac and the problems started. Before that I had no issues. Was running great. Now, Mac mail appears to send and receive all of my mail from both my me.com account and my Outlook 2010 Exchange account that I use for work. However, when I check the office computer through Microsoft Remote Desktop the mail that I read in Mac Mail on my iMac or my iPhone, appear unread, the mail that I sent does not appear in the sent mailbox, and any mail that I have moved into a different folder has not moved on the Outlook computer. Very frustrating. I do not want to work from the Outlook computer as Mac Mail is just easier. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks. And .... Happy New Year.

It's now been two months, and lots of people on Big Sur having trouble with mail sync with exchange. On IOS devices mail works fine, both incoming and outgoing. On Mac, outgoing mail is fine, mail does not arrive. Taking offline, closing mail and restarting, with our without option key, does not help.

Please get on and fix this.

I am having the same issue and it is driving me batty. My gmail messages load correctly and outgoing messages from all accounts are fine. Mail will not load Exchange messages. I am finding that the fastest fix is to use Rebuild, which quickly loads all of the new messages. Perhaps it is because I have now used that feature so many times per day, but I am not experiencing delay in the rebuild. Pressing Get Mail is useless, as is quitting and relaunching Mail.

APPLE PLEASE DO SOMETHING. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND REQUIRES IMMEDIATE CORRECTION.

I'm having the same issue and it started immediately after updating to 11.2.3 - that is Mac Mail stopped talking to Microsoft 365. I've worked through more troubleshooting steps than I care to remember and still no luck.

Interestingly, I downloaded and installed Office 365 and when I try to add my Microsoft 365 account I get a credential error. This is strange because after I put in the password for our ADFS, I then complete MFA and it fails. Normally, if the credentials are incorrect it fails before MFA.

So no email for me on the Mac. Lucky my Windows 10 PC works just fine. Come on Apple - you're killing us!
